Cormier believes Makhachev's next opponent should be McGregor

Former two-weight UFC champion, now commentator and analyst Daniel Cormier believes that the promotion's management should bring down the title holder in the lightweight division Islam Makhacheva With Conor McGregor.

“I think Makhachev should fight McGregor. It will pay off. This is the biggest money fight the UFC can put on.

You have Islam Makhachev, who looks set to become a dominant champion. And for this dominant champion to take it to the next level and become a superstar, it takes a guy to elevate him. And that is Conor McGregor,” Cormier said on ESPN.

Let us remember that last weekend at UFC 294 Makhachev defended his belt for the second time, knocking out Alexander Volkanovski in the first round.
