Former undisputed world middleweight champion Bernard Hopkins told who he considers the best boxer in the world, regardless of weight category.
Quite unexpectedly, Hopkins named the regular WBA lightweight champion Gervonta Davis, giving him credit for his win over Ryan Garcia.
“Gervonta Davis is the best based on the way he executed Ryan Garcia. It's not just that he did it, but how Davis did it. I am of this opinion. He had a downtime due to personal problems, but Gervonta returned. I have nothing personal towards him. I make my choices based on trust and feelings.
I'm still for "Tank", but you can't underestimate Terence Crawford's performance in his fight against Errol Spence. He's hot on Davis' heels. Canelo is in the top 3, but I don’t see him at the top. They should do great things in 2024, but Davis currently holds the top spot,” Hopkins said in an interview with ES News.
