Legendary British boxer Ricky Hatton believes that his compatriot Moses Itauma is being moved too quickly to fight the undisputed world champion in the heavyweight division, Oleksandr Usyk.

“I believe that Itauma is probably being moved too quickly. He put on a very experienced performance, far beyond his years. Now they are talking about his fight with Usyk. Let’s not rush. Usyk has only a few fights left. If you look at the rising heavyweights, Itauma has many opportunities. I think he can clear the division.

Fabio Wardley or Fraser Clarke are good home fights. You need to have home fights to build your fan base. Itauma’s fan base is already growing steadily, but I think I would do it this way. Don’t rush to fight Usyk because Itauma will only get better. So why fight him now? Get a little better first, and then fight him,” said Hatton to BBC Sport
