Since last performance Saul Alvarez (60-2-2, 39 KOs) only two weeks have passed, but the first rumors are already appearing about the Mexican’s next opponent. Canelo holds all the super middleweight belts, including the WBO title, where he is number one in the rankings Jaime Munguia (42-0, 33 KOs).

“Alvarez just fought Charlo, so he has eighteen months before he has to make a mandatory defense, but any negotiations are welcome. I would like to see Munguia fight Canelo because it is one of the best fights you can have,” said 73-year-old WBO President Francisco Valcarcel.

Eric Gomez, president of Golden Boy Promotions, which handles Munguia’s career, responded to Valcarcel’s words: “The first negotiations are already behind us, and we hope that we will soon come to an agreement. In any case, we would like to fight Canelo,” Gomez said.
