Khabib explained why he decided to prepare Makhachev for the fight at UFC 294

Former UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov explained why he took an active part in the training camp of his fellow and current belt holder Islam Makhacheva for the fight at the UFC 294 tournament, which will take place on October 21 in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

Let us remember that initially Makhachev’s opponent was supposed to be Charles Oliveira, but the Brazilian was injured and withdrew from the fight. He will be replaced by Alexander Volkanovski.

“I never said that I would leave training camp. I always trained and was always in the gym with my guys. The only thing I don’t do anymore is be a fighter in the Octagon and be a cornerman in the corner. Just this.

Otherwise, I’m always with my brothers, I’m always in the hall. We've been together our whole lives. But I won’t appear at fight nights. I will help them, and I will tell them that if you want something, you have to go and get yours,” Khabib said in an interview with the Anatomy of a Fighter YouTube channel.
