Dominant UFC Featherweight Champion Alexander Volkanovski reacted to the news that he will share the octagon with a title holder of a higher category for the second time in 2023 Islam Makhachev.

Today the Australian agreed to replace Charles Oliveira, who withdrew from the fight against the Dagestani due to a cut he received during training. The fight will take place on October 21 at the UFC 294 tournament in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

“11 days notice. There's no need to talk about it. You just need to do it. I love it,” Volkanovski wrote on X.

We would like to remind you that the first meeting between Makhachev and Volkanovski took place in February of this year at the UFC 284 show. In a difficult fight, Islam won by unanimous decision of the judges.
