Money and title fight: Thompson named his motivation in the fight with Rakhmonov

Stephen Thompson, a UFC welterweight, hopes to get a title shot if he can finish off Shavkat Rakhmonov.

“The deal is that if I fight Shavkat, they will give me what they owe me for the last fight. Also, I think if Shavkat wins, he plans to fight for the title with the winner of the fight between Leon Edwards and Colby Covington, so if I beat this guy, I expect to get another title shot.”

Let us remind you that the fight between Thompson and Rakhmonov will take place as part of UFC 296.
