Belew advises Joyce to retire

Tony Bellew, former world champion, reacted to his early defeat Joe Joyce in a rematch with Zhang Zhilei. Tony advised Joe to hang up his gloves.

“It’s sad to watch Joyce finally lose his most valuable asset (the ability to take a punch – note). We discussed this on our show and I said that Joyce would not last until the sixth round. It’s a shame because I was hoping he had one bad performance... To be honest, I don’t think he should continue,” Belew said.

Let us remember that Joyce lost to Zhilei in the rematch by knockout in the third round.
