UFC middleweight title contender Sean Strickland said that he could not help but react to the insults of one of the fans of his closest rival, the division champion Israel Adesanya. According to the American, the incident took place during his walk in Sydney, Australia, where the fight will take place on September 9 at the UFC 293 tournament.

“Punched him right in the stomach. I spent only one day in Australia, and I had already committed an attack. At first I thought this guy wanted to come up to me to take a photo. But if you come up to me to open your dirty mouth, then you will get what you are supposed to - an uppercut to the belly.

If I see this guy again, I will thank him for not pressing charges. The problem is that nowadays people open their mouths online and in person without fear of any repercussions,” Strickland told reporters.
