duel between Deontay Wilder And Andy Ruiz will not have the status of an eliminator, and its winner will not become a mandatory contender for the WBC world heavyweight champion belt. This decision was announced by the organization late last night. The decision that was made earlier was canceled due to the fact that Wilder and Ruiz still could not agree on a duel. This is despite the fact that their fight in the status of an eliminator was sanctioned back in November last year.

Recall that Tyson Fury is the reigning WBC heavyweight champion.
