Saul Alvarez (59-2-2, 39 KOs) and Jermell Charlo (35-1-1, 19 KOs), as well as their coaches, held their debut press conference dedicated to their confrontation on September 30 in Las Vegas.

“I'm happy to be a part of big fights like this one. Jermell is a great fighter who, like me, takes on big challenges. I will bring my experience, strength and everything I know about boxing to the ring. It will be a great evening for boxing fans. I am 100 percent focused on this fight and on the opponent, but we'll see," Canelo said.

“My opponent is a legend of this sport. He gave a lot of memorable fights and I want to take everything from him. This is my time and my brother Jermall's time. If you want to achieve something great, you must take risks. That's exactly what I did by choosing to fight Canelo in his category. This is the best moment to leave a mark on the history of boxing. When two great boxers like us face each other, it should end in fireworks in the ring. My heart, desire and determination will give me what I need to win, ”Charlo said in turn.

“Styles make fights and I think both Charlo and Canelo have contrasting styles that fans will love. Charlo is a great fighter with a big heart and he will definitely be a challenge for us. We must be ready for anything, it will be hard and difficult, but we are always ready for it. You will see a different and better Canelo than in recent fights,” said Eddie Reynoso, Alvarez’s trainer.

“This is the fight that Jermell has always wanted. He needs it to reach the status of a big star. Jermell will be the best version of himself,” said Derrick James, Charlo’s trainer.
