Makhachev's coach wants a rematch with Volkanovski, not a fight with Gaethje

Javier Mendez, head coach of the AKA gym and mentor of UFC lightweight champion Islam Makhachev, told who he would like to see his ward's next opponent. According to Mendes, he would like to see a rematch of Islam with Alex Volkanovski, and not a fight with Justin Gaethje.

“I would rather fight Alex than Justin Gaethje. This is my subjective opinion, but first I would like to see a fight with Alex, and if it is successful, then a fight for the welterweight title will be needed ... ", - said the specialist.

Mendes also added that the first fight between Makhachev and Volkanovski caused heated debate among fans about who won it. Therefore, the revenge will cause a lot of excitement.
