After the performance this Saturday, the undisputed lightweight champion Devin Haney spoke about his victory over the world champion in three weight categories Vasily Lomachenko.

“The torso work is what got me the win tonight. I knew that I had to invest in the body. I broke it. He fought in short intervals. He had some good moments during the round, but he ended the rounds weakly, ”Haney said at a press conference after the fight.

“At the end of the day, people can say what they want, but the only thing that matters is what the judges said. What else do I have to prove? I have been competing in lightweight since I was 16 years old. Obviously, I need to move up in categories further,” Haney added.

“I fought differently than you have ever seen me fight. I imposed my fight on him, beat off his sides, showed my versatility. I feel like I have definitely proven that I am one of the best fighters in the world. I am #1 in my weight class. Me and Shakur are on my way to a fight that will either be at lightweight, super lightweight or welterweight. But we will definitely meet when the time comes,” said Haney.
