Former World Champion Tony Belew shared his prediction for the fight of the absolute world champion in super middleweight Saul Alvarez (58-2-2, 39 KOs) vs. interim WBO champion John Ryder (32-5, 18 KOs).

The fight will take place on May 6 in Guadalajara, Mexico.

“For John to have any chance in this fight, he must give the best performance of his career. And even that may not be enough.

Could Canelo have a bad fight or even underestimate Ryder? Perhaps, but I think he is very professional. Therefore, he will treat John with respect and will perceive this fight as a serious threat.

John needs to do what he did against Callum Smith - try to get close, get Canelo in the face and make the fight difficult.

In my opinion, Alvarez is the best counterpuncher in boxing. I think he will be too good for Ryder in many ways. After this fight, John can earn a lot of respect, but after 12 rounds of the fight, Canelo's hand will be raised," Belew said.
