Eddie Hearn has revealed that he is close to signing a deal between John Ryder (28-5, 16 KOs) and former middleweight champion David Lemieux (42-4, 25 KOs). At stake there will be the status of the official contender for the WBA super middleweight title. The fight will take place on December 12 in London.

Recently, the World Boxing Association has ordered the teams to begin negotiations on this fight. Both fighters work with the same promotional organization Matchroom, so the deal was quickly reached.
John Ryder (27-4, 15 KO) scored a KO victory in the seventh round over the previously undefeated Andrey Sirotkin (15-1, 4 KO) and received the status of the official contender for the WBA super middleweight title in the main event at the Copper Box Arena in London.
