David Benavidez (27-0, 23 KOs), a former two-time WBC super middleweight world champion and mandatory contender for this title, believes that Saul Alvarez (58-2-2, 39 KOs), who sits on the throne of all four sanctioning organizations, will soon be stripped of some of his titles.

Canelo is currently planning a mandatory WBO defense. On May 6, his opponent will be John Ryder (32-5, 18 KOs). Then the Mexican wants to settle scores with Dmitry Bivol (21-0, 11 KOs), WBA light heavyweight champion.

“I have been his mandatory challenger for three fights. I have earned my chance, and he wants to fight Bivol. In my opinion, Canelo will soon be stripped of the WBC belt, and possibly the WBA. I would like to fight for these two titles with David Morrell or Jermall Charlo,” said Benavidez.

“He is a very underrated fighter and at the same time no one in his weight wants to fight him. In general, I am not surprised that others avoid him, ”the legendary Mike Tyson recently said about Benavidez.
