Mayweather urges Alvarez to stop avoiding Benavidez fight

American boxing legend and ex-world champion in five weight categories Floyd Mayweather criticized the owner of all major titles in the second middleweight of the Mexican Saul Alvarez for choosing the next opponent.

According to Floyd, no one wants to see Canelo fight British John Ryder, but because fans are waiting for a confrontation with David Benavidez.

“If it depended on me, then Alvarez fought with Benavidez. Canelo is a great fighter, but I think he avoids the Benavidez fight. This is my personal opinion, which I am allowed to express. We all want to see Alvarez vs. Benavidez fight. Let's do it," Mayweather said in an interview with FighterIQ.

Recall that Alvarez and Ryder will fight on May 6 in Guadalajara, Mexico.
