Jermell Charlo (35-1-1, 19 KOs) will face Tim Tszyu (22-0, 16 KOs) in July at a boxing evening organized in the USA. The fight will become a mandatory defense of the World Boxing Organization championship belt for the American.
Initially, the fight was supposed to take place at the end of January, but Charlo broke his arm at the last stage of preparation. Meanwhile, a fight was scheduled between Tszyu and Tony Harrison for the WBO temporary belt. Last weekend, the Australian won by technical knockout in the ninth round.
Charlo knocked out Brian Castano in his last appearance in the ring. After this victory, the American became the absolute champion in the weight category up to 69 kg. In addition to the belt of the World Boxing Organization, the American boxer also holds WBC, WBA and IBF titles.
