Michael Conlan (18-1, 9 KOs) can win his second champion title in the near future. On May 27, the Irishman will fight for the IBF featherweight belt at his home in Belfast.

Eleven months ago, Conlan lost ahead of schedule in the last seconds of the fight with Lee Wood. He could take some consolation in the fact that this fight was recognized by many as the best in 2022. Conlan's opponent in three months will be Luis Alberto Lopez (27-2, 15 KOs), champion according to the International Boxing Federation in the weight category up to 57 kg. It is reported that contracts for this fight have not yet been signed, but both sides are allegedly close to an agreement.

The Mexican made himself known to British fans at the end of 2021, when he knocked out Tyson Fury's friend Isaac Lowe in the seventh round. And at the end of last year, he beat Josh Warrington on points and stripped him of his IBF title. After an early loss to Voodoo, Conlan has already had two victorious fights.
