Clottey lost to Pacquiao on purpose

Joshua Clottey, a former world champion, made an unexpected announcement. He said that at one time he had purposely lost to the legendary Manny Pacquiao. According to Joshua, this happened due to financial disagreements with his manager.

“I should have received $2 million for this fight. The PPV cost $100 and I only got $3 from that purchase. And then, I could count on this amount only if at least 300,000 people buy the broadcast. I tried to negotiate other terms, but I was told that I could leave if I didn't want to fight. Therefore, I accepted the terms. And my manager earned 33% from each paid broadcast, plus more money for the fight. I regret that I signed a contract with him. I should have earned more. Therefore, I was not happy with the fight and decided to merge it, ”said Clottey.

The duel between Pacquiao and Clottey took place in March 2010, ending with Manny's victory by unanimous decision.
