One of the many sparring partners of the Bronze Bomber at one time was Alonzo Butler (34-3-2, 25 KOs), who has been sitting without a fight for a year and a half. It was he who Wilder pointed out when asked about the boxer with the heaviest hand.
“Butler gave me a great sparring session. He was the fastest athlete at 115 kilograms that I have ever seen. If he had a good promoter and a good team, he could become a world champion. I used to want to be like him and I learned a lot from him. His sparring punches were the strongest I have ever felt,” said Wilder, who is considered one of the greatest punchers in boxing history.
