Andrejd: "I don't think Golovkin still has the same fire"

Gennady Golovkin

Demetrius Andreid (31-0, 19 KOs) tried to refrain from harsh criticism, but nevertheless stated that, in his opinion, age had finally caught up with the 40-year-old Gennady Golovkin (42-2-1, 37 KOs), and he is no longer the same as before, at the peak of his career.

"I doubt GGG still has that fire inside," Andrejd said in an interview with BoxingScene.com. — But despite this, GGG is still one of the best fighters in the division. There are a lot of guys he can still beat, he's still GGG after all."

Andrejd, 34, also used to compete in middleweight, but the fight this coming weekend in Washington against Demond Nicholson will hold in the weight category up to 76 kg. At the same time, Andreid admits the possibility that Golovkin at the end of his career may also rise to super middleweight, and their meeting is potentially possible in the future.
