Former American Heavyweight Champion Deontay Wilder (43-2-1, 42 KOs) announced his readiness to refuse the WBC eliminator with the Mexican Andy Ruiz (35-2, 22 KOs) for box office fight with British Anthony Joshua (24-3, 22 KOs). This was announced by the manager of the fighter Shelly Finkel.

“Deontay is ready to fight Anthony Joshua in his next fight. We would meet him in the UK or the Middle East. We are ready to fight him next.

We have a WBC qualifier and we will do it, but we want to fight Anthony Joshua. Eddie Hearn contacted us in August, but then we had a fight with Robert Helenius. Then we replied that we would not talk to anyone until this duel was over. Eddie knew this, but still announced that he had contacted us. We are now ready to speak to make a deal to fight Joshua.

Deontay wants to fight Anthony next. Since 2017, we have been trying to organize this fight. Let's make a deal and have a fight. Fans want to see him, so why not?" Finkel said.
