Berinchyk: "I dedicate the victory to Valery Zaluzhny"

New EBU European Lightweight Champion Denis Berinchik after a victorious fight against the Frenchman Ivan Mendy met with representatives of the media in Ukraine.

“The fight was under our dictation, we brought the belt to Ukraine. And I dedicate this victory to all Ukrainians and to our General Valery Zaluzhny. When we were preparing, we received good news about Kherson, and this inspired us,” Berinchyk said.

“I have already boxed in big arenas both in amateurs and in Ukrainian Atamans. And now I was ready to fight in the big arena. And don't give a f*ck. This is my new nickname," added Berinchyk.

“I love difficult conditions and I am not looking for easy ways. Everything suits me at the expense of working with Denis, - said Berinchyk's coach Yegor Golub. — The samurai has a way. And we are going. I knew about the fight with Mendy back in July, I watched his fights, and we prepared. It was clear that it would not be easy. Not everything worked out that we planned, but fortunately, without injuries, the belt is at home, and we are moving forward. In preparation for the fight, even I had to remember how to be a sparring partner. I don't want any more, it hurts a little. But we do everything for the result.”

As for cooperation with Queensberry Promotions, Frank Warren's promotion company, Denis Berinchyk noted that the boxer's next fight should be announced in the coming month.

“We signed right after the fight, so we were in a good mood,” said Yegor Golub. — Of course, everyone was happy with this signing. The Champions League begins. We were given a chance, and I hope that with God's help we will get what Denis has been going for so long. To the championship fight."

Berinchyk also did not rule out the possibility of his fight on the undercard of the fight between Alexander Usyk and Tyson Fury: "This is the work of Alexander Krasyuk and Frank Warren, and I only need to be ready and agree to the fight."
