WBC President Mauricio Suleiman fully supports the idea of organizing a fight for the title of undisputed heavyweight champion between Tyson Fury (33-0-1, 24 KOs) and Oleksandr Usyk (20-0, 13 KOs) in the first quarter of next year.
"This is the perfect time to reunite," Suleiman told Sky Sports, adding that he believes the rival IBF will temporarily step back from its directive requiring Usyk to immediately defend his title against Filip Hrgovic.
“Compulsory defenses are a complex process, and each organization has its own rules, but the importance of this meeting is higher than the rules of all organizations, so we support this meeting and will do our best to make it happen,” the President of the World Boxing Council added.
