Oleksandr Usyk showed why he's the top heavyweight around by stopping Daniel Dubois in five rounds at Wembley Stadium last weekend. The win made Usyk the undisputed heavyweight champ for a second time.
The 38-year-old Ukrainian dropped Dubois with a short right hand and finished him off with a big left hook after the British fighter got back up. It was a dominant performance that left no doubt about Usyk's skills.
With this win, Usyk has beaten all the top heavyweights of his time - Dubois, Anthony Joshua, and Tyson Fury. He's clearly the best of his generation. But at his age, retirement talk is starting to pop up.
Former champ Lennox Lewis thinks Usyk would be smart to hang up the gloves after this victory. Lewis said:
"If Usyk beats Dubois and decides to retire, I'd say he's making the right choice. He's done it all."
But Usyk might have one more fight left in him. Joseph Parker is now the mandatory challenger for Usyk's WBO belt. A lot of fans want to see Parker get another shot at becoming world champ after losing his title to Joshua back in 2018.
Parker, the New Zealander, held the WBO title from 2016 to 2018. He'd love a chance to win it back from Usyk in what could be the Ukrainian's final fight.
Whether Usyk decides to face Parker or call it a career, he's already secured his place in boxing history. Becoming undisputed champ twice is a rare feat that cements Usyk's status as an all-time great heavyweight.
