Shields-Marshall, Meyer-Baumgardner. Weighing

Andrew Karlov Oct. 14, 2022, 4:12 p.m.

In the main bout of the evening, two-time Olympic champion American Claressa Shields (12-0, 2 KOs), WBC, WBA, IBF and Ring magazine middleweight champion, will once again try to become the absolute champion in the weight category up to 72 kg. She will face WBO title holder Savannah Marshall (12-0, 10 KOs). Marshall defeated Shields in amateurs in 2012. It was Shields' only loss in her boxing career, both professional and amateur.

Also this evening there will be a unification duel between Mikaela Mayer (17-0, 5 KOs) and Alicia Baumgardner (12-1, 7 KOs). Mayer will try to get one step closer to becoming the first undisputed champion in her division when she stakes her WBO, IBF and Ring magazine super featherweight titles against arch-rival and WBC champion Baumgardner.

Meyer, a 2016 Olympic competitor with Team USA, is a 2022 ESPY nominee and is considered one of the elite athletes in any weight class. Baumgardner became world champion last year when she knocked out local favorite Terry Harper in Sheffield, England, in a rather unexpected fashion.

Weighing results:

Claressa Shields 159.3 lbs (72.3 kg) - Savannah Marshall 159.3 lbs (72.3 kg)

Mikaela Mayer 129.3 lbs (58.7 kg) - Alicia Baumgardner 129.3 lbs (58.7 kg)
