In his last fight Deontay Wilder (42-2-1, 41 KOs) entered the ring with a career-high 108 kilograms. According to the American, ten days later, in confrontation with Robert Helenius (31-3, 20 KOs) he will weigh much less. Their fight will be the "semi-final" for the WBC heavyweight title. Theoretically, the winner of the bout would have to face Andy Ruiz (35-2, 22 KOs).
The bronze bomber reported that he would weigh about 220 pounds (99.8 kg) in a duel with his former sparring partner. The last time Wilder showed a similar weight before a rematch with Luis Ortiz almost three years ago.
“I will enter the ring weighing about 220 pounds, but that doesn’t really bother me. Recently I put on weight to see how my body would react to it. I checked and decided to return to my natural weight, where I feel most comfortable, ”Wilder said.
