Hearn says Dana White backed off after calling him out to fight

Prominent British promoter Eddie Hearn says UFC president Dana White has backed away from a fight that White had previously challenged him to.

Prominent British boxing promoter Eddie Hearn says Dana White is backing out of a fight that White himself challenged him to take.

“The truth is Dana White is ducking the fight that he called me out for himself,” Hearn said. “You can’t call someone a coward when you’re the one who calls him out, he accepts it, and then you say, ‘We’re bums, what the hell kind of fight is that?’”

Hearn stressed that a fight between the two could have been a real event.

“We would have fought in a main event and packed a huge stadium. If the fight were on DAZN, the ratings would be massive. Do you really think we wouldn’t sell out The O2 Arena and do more than a million pay-per-views worldwide?

Dana has a big name — some people even think it’s bigger than mine. We’ve got both the American and British audience. Can you imagine how I’d sell that show? My God... But whatever,” Hearn concluded.
