Devin Haney (28-0, 15 KOs) confidently won the fight for the status of the absolute lightweight champion, but before the rematch with George Kambosos (20-1, 10 KOs) promises to be as professional as before the first fight.
The American, who will soon turn 24, flew to enemy territory for the second time, that is, to Australia. The first duel in early June aroused great interest among local boxing fans. It is difficult to say whether Kambosos' fans will support him after the first one-sided fight, but the challenger, and at the same time the former champion, will do everything possible to recoup for the first failure in his career.
Duel number two will take place on October 16, but Haney and his team have already arrived in Australia.
“I would never take him any less seriously than the first time. Kambosos was a champion, he knows how it happens, then he lost his belts, but now he will do everything to get them back. He will definitely choose different tactics, try new actions and be even more motivated than a few months ago. He made several mistakes and now he will try to correct them in his camp. Because there is always time to improve. I expect him to be a bit more aggressive in the ring as well, but less aggressive in advancing the fight. But I will catch him making mistakes, ”Haney promised.
If the American wins next year, he will probably face Vasily Lomachenko.
