Streaming service DAZN reported that the total pay-per-view sales of Saturday's fight Saul Alvarez (58-2-2, 39 KOs) with Gennady Golovkin (42-2-1, 37 KOs) exceeded one million purchases worldwide. The result provided by DAZN covers all territories where Saturday night was played on PPV.
The fight ended with Canelo winning by unanimous decision. The Mexican defended his IBF, WBA, WBO and WBC super middleweight titles.
Saturday's performance was the last for Golovkin under the contract with DAZN, signed several years ago. Alvarez's contract with DAZN has also expired.
