Diaz-Ferguson is the new main event of UFC 279

UFC President Dana has officially announced a major reshuffle in the main card of the upcoming UFC 279 tournament, which will be held on the night of September 11 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

So, the new main event of the tournament is the duel between Nate Diaz and Tony Ferguson, and in the co-main event there will be a confrontation between Khamzat Chimaev and Kevin Holland. Both fights will be five-round.

In addition, Li Jinliang vs. Daniel Rodriguez will take place on the main card.

Recall that initially the main fight of the upcoming tournament was supposed to be between Diaz and Chimaev, but the latter failed to meet the welterweight division limit, showing an advantage of almost 3 kg. Also, as part of the event, the fights of Jinliang - Ferguson and Holland - Rodriguez were planned.
