UFC President Dana White noted that the fight between Cyril Gan and Tai Tuivasoy will have Candidate status.
“Yeah, that’s how it works – if Ty wins, obviously he will be next in line for a title fight. And the fight between Cyril and Francis was very close. I don't schedule fights before the scheduled fights are over, so anything is possible. In any case, until we can know how things will turn out, because the champion is still injured. But the one who wins this weekend will be very close,” the functionary said.
Recall that the fight between Gan and Tuivasa will take place on September 3 in Paris, headlining the UFC Fight Night 209 event.
