“This defeat only made Canelo stronger,” says Eddie Reynoso, coach, manager and mentor Saul Alvarez (57-2-2, 39 KOs).

The Mexican star unexpectedly lost to Dmitry Bivol (20-0, 11 KOs) in May of this year. On September 17, he returns to his super middleweight category, in which he unified all four championship belts, and where he will complete the trilogy with Gennady Golovkin (42-1-1, 37 KOs). If Alvarez defeats Golovkin and Bivol deals with Gilberto Ramirez (44-0, 30 KOs) on November 5, their rematch should take place in May 2023.

“Losing the fight with Bivol made Canelo even stronger and will prepare him even better for his next fights. This defeat only strengthened him, ”says the coach of the leader in the weight category up to 76.2 kg.

“Golovkin is a disciplined boxer who can knock out with one punch. This will stay with him forever, so he will be as dangerous as in the first two fights. But I can assure you, Canelo will be better than last time,” Reynoso added.
