Sonnen accused Edwards of cheating

Former UFC and Bellator fighter Chael Sonnen said that Leon Edwards cheated in his fight against Kamaru Usman by grabbing the net.

"Leon cheated in this match many times. This is not a headline or a topic of discussion right now. Edwards was in a stalemate in the parterre, and he had no choice but to cheat. This is no accident, because this sort of thing has happened many times. The referee decided not to take drastic action, but he warned Leon five or six times. Kamaru Usman is more likely to choke his opponent if he is on top and dominant. He is likely to finish the fight from that position, especially when he has you pinned against the net. Kamaru has done it three times, and Leon has been able to get out with a trickery three times," Sonnen said.

As a reminder, Edwards beat Usman by knockout in the fifth round.
