Former UFC and Bellator fighter Chael Sonnen said that Leon Edwards cheated in his fight against Kamaru Usman by grabbing the net.
"Leon cheated a lot of times in this match. That's not a headline or a topic of discussion right now. Edwards was in a stalemate in the parter, and he had no other option but to cheat. This is no accident, because this sort of thing has happened many times. The referee decided not to take drastic action, but he warned Leon five or six times. Kamaru Usman is more likely to choke his opponent if he is on top and dominant. He is likely to finish the fight from that position, especially when he has you pinned against the net. Kamaru has done it three times, and three times Leon has been able to get out with a deception," Sonnen said.
As a reminder, Edwards beat Usman by knockout in the fifth round.
