WBA vs. Makabu-Merhi fight?

WBA once again appointed a duel Arsen Gulamiryan (26-0, 17 KOs) and Riad Merhi (30-1, 25 KOs). The Armenian is the WBA super heavyweight champion, and the Belgian holds the regular championship belt in the same weight category.

The boxing teams got only 24 hours to decide on participation in this fight. If positive answers are not received, the World Boxing Association threatens to mark the fight for the title. Previous attempts by the WBA to force boxers to negotiate have been unsuccessful.

Gulamiryan did not enter the ring for almost three years. In December, a boxer with a French passport tried to cross gloves with Evgeny Yegorov, but the fight did not take place in the end.
