Saul Alvarez (57-2-2, 39 KOs) and Gennady Golovkin (42-1-1, 37 KOs) held the first press conference for their trilogy on September 17 in Las Vegas.

The Mexican, who recently lost to Dmitry Bivol, spoke aggressively at his opponent at a press conference. GGG remained calm, although at times he seemed annoyed by what Canelo was saying.

“I want to punish him, because every time he says something nasty about me. It looks like he's counting on the last big paycheck of his career. And he will get it," Alvarez said.

"He's a funny guy," Golovkin replied.

“He is a two-faced person. He pretends to be good, but he is an ordinary bastard. He says nasty things about me in other interviews, but never to my face. I take this fight very personally. I am motivated and ready, and after the defeat from Bivol it is even more dangerous. I will end this fight with a knockout,” added Canelo.
