Middleweight unification bout between Claressa Shields (12-0, 2 KOs) and Savannah Marshall (12-0, 10 KOs) is scheduled for September 3 in England. This was announced by Ben Shalom, who is currently the promoter of both athletes. At stake in the meeting will be IBF, WBA, WBO and WBC champion titles.
Initially, this event was scheduled for June 25, but due to the health problems of the British, the date of the fight had to be postponed for several weeks. The exact location of the fight will be officially confirmed in the near future.
Shields returned to the boxing ring in February after over a year's hiatus with a unanimous points victory over Ema Kozin. Marshall last boxed in April. At an evening in Newcastle, a 30-year-old athlete knocked out Femke Hermans.
