Benavidez destroyed Lemieux in three rounds

In a duel between former world champions David Benavidez (26-0, 23 KOs) effectively knocked out David Lemieux (43-5, 36 KOs) in the third round and won the interim WBC super middleweight title in the main event of the evening at Gila River in Glendale, Arizona.

Benavidez almost knocked out Lemieux in the first round, but Lemieux saved the gong. Benavidez was able to send Lemieux to the floor in the second round, but he got up and fought back bravely, although Benavidez continued to punish him.
