May 21st David Benavidez (25-0, 22 KOs) and David Lemieux (43-4, 36 KOs) will fight for the interim WBC super middleweight title at a boxing evening in Phoenix. The terms of the duel were set a few weeks ago.
Saul Alvarez is a world champion according to the World Boxing Council in the weight category up to 168. In the next fight, the Mexican will fight in light heavyweight, so the WBC has appointed a fight for an interim title.
Last year, Lemieux had one fight - in June he beat David Zegarra. The last time Benavidez fought in November.
As part of the same evening, the IBF welterweight eliminator between Jaron Ennis and Custio Clayton may take place.
