Kovalev's return will be postponed

Fight between Sergey Kovalev (34-4-1, 29 KOs) and fanlong meng (17-0, 10 KOs), scheduled for March 12, was postponed to April. The official date has not yet been confirmed, so it is possible that the fight will take place even later.

The fight was supposed to take place at a catchweight of 185 pounds, that is, between light heavyweight and first heavyweight. For the Russian, this was supposed to be a warm-up before a full transition to cruiserweight.

Kovalev, who held the light heavyweight title, last fought in November 2019, losing ahead of schedule to Saul Alvarez. He was supposed to meet with Bekhtemir Melikuzev in January last year, but passed a positive doping test.
