“Now it’s time for Canelo. I will knock him out, ”said Ilunga Makabu (29-2, 25 KOs), WBC world heavyweight champion after defeating Tabiso Mchunu in somewhat controversial circumstances last Saturday.

Saul Alvarez (57-1-2, 39 KOs) is now in need of an opponent for May 7th. One option is to move up nearly fifteen kilos from super middleweight to cruiserweir in pursuit of a fifth weight class championship. And Maccabu will be very happy to welcome the 90.7 kg Mexican star.

Canelo made a big mistake by challenging me. He plays games, and boxing is not a game. If he really takes such a step, it will not be difficult for me to knock him out. I can demolish it, but it will all end ahead of schedule. I know that I will have to box Canelo a bit, so against Mchunu I boxed more than usual. I wanted to show that I am not always charged with power punches, and that I can box. I'm waiting for Canelo and I'm ready for him," Makabu said.
