Kambosos: I'm interested in meeting both Haney and Lomachenko

IBF, WBC, WBO and WBA Lightweight Champion George Kambosos evaluates options for his first defense of the united crown. Last November, 28-year-old Kambosos made one of the biggest upsets of the year when he outboxed a clear favorite Teofimo Lopez and won four championship belts. Kambosos now hopes to return to the ring, possibly in May at a large stadium in Australia.

The Australian has been playing abroad since 2017, his fights took place in the USA, Great Britain, Malaysia and Greece. Now Kambosos wants to lure the enemy with a big name and fight with him on his homeland. Several boxers have already expressed to travel to Australia, including the WBC champion Devin Haney and a former champion in three weight divisions Vasyl Lomachenko.

“I love the Haney fight and I love the WBC belt. I like the fight with Lomachenko. Big name and Tank Davis too. Ryan Garcia has a big name. But let him get back in the ring first,” Kambosos told Fox Sports Australia.

“We are still negotiating, we want to make sure that they are ready to come to Australia. The main condition for us is that they are ready to come to us. I know for sure that Haney and Lomachenko are ready. So this is immediately a big plus,” added Kambosos.
