Former world welterweight champion Keith Thurman (29-1, 22 KOs) will officially return to the ring on January 29th for a boxing night in Las Vegas. His rival will be the former world super lightweight champion Mario Barrios (26-1, 17 KOs), for which it will be a return to the ring after losing to Jervonte Davis.
The American had his last fight in July 2019, losing on points to Manny Pacquiao. For a Florida boxer who has suffered an injury in recent years, this was his first professional defeat.
After the fight with the Filipino, Thurman underwent two surgeries on his left hand. His participation in January will be shown in a pay-per-view in the United States.
Leo Santa Cruz (37-2-1, 19 KO) will also take part in this evening, who will face Keenan Karbahal (23-2-1, 15 KO), Abela Ramos (27-4-2, 21 KO) with Josecito Lopez (38-8, 21 KO) and Luis Neri (31-1, 24 K) with Carlos Castro (27-0, 12 KO).
