On February 19 Amir Khan (34-5, 21 KOs) will fight against Kell Brook (39-3, 27 KOs). This meeting has been postponed for several years and may seem like a rather competitive confrontation for Khan, but Amir is already setting himself other goals.
The British will meet in Manchester in the interim weight of 149 pounds (67.6 kg). If Amir wins, and he seems convinced of his superiority over his compatriot, next in line will be Danny Garcia (36-3, 21 KOs), who in July 2012 inflicted a surprise TKO defeat on him.
“Bigger battles and challenges await me. I've always said I want a rematch with Danny Garcia, and he's still in the game. I hunted this duel for a long time. I don't even think about losing to Brook because I'm just capable of more and I'm a better boxer. After that I will be very happy to have a rematch with Garcia,” said the former world champion.
The American has several other plans. A few days ago, he announced the transition to the first middleweight, but in the end, with Khan, he can also go to some intermediate limit and settle the old scores.
