Former UFC middleweight champion Michael Bisping believes the next title challenger in the lightweight division should be Justin Gaethje.

On Nov. 7 at UFC 268, Gaethje defeated Michael Chandler by unanimous decision.

"Justin Gaethje defeated Chandler and should now be the next contender for the belt. He's ranked second in the rankings, right? At the press conference, Dana White said: "We have a bout between the number two and number four in the division, and whoever wins that fight is next in line. Of course, there's also Islam Makhachev. He's got a crazy winning streak, he's stopping people. Nevertheless, I agree with White, Gaethje deserves to fight for the title," Bisping said on his YouTube channel.

The current UFC lightweight champion is Charles Oliveira. On December 11 at UFC 269 in Las Vegas, the Brazilian will make his first title defense against Dustin Porter.
