Hunter and Usik met in the featherweight division when Alexander held the WBO belt. In his second title defense he defeated Michael, and at the end of the fight he almost knocked him out. All the judges then counted 117-110 in favor of the champ.
Today, both are among the strongest super heavyweights in the world. Usik is to face Joshua for the IBF, WBA and WBO titles on September 25 at Tottenham Football Stadium in London. Hunter, in return, scored a WBA title shot in the fourth round by TKO over Mike Wilson last month.
"Usik's technical skills are on another level and will make a big difference. He will beat Joshua because he is simply a better boxer. The Englishman is just learning some things at this top level, he's making strides, but Usik will beat him," Hunter claims.
