UFC Heavyweight Champion Francis Ngannou spoke about his attitude towards the interim title fight of Derrick Lewis and Ciryl Gane, which will take place on August 7 at UFC 265 in Houston.

“White said that it will be something like a merger of the IBF and WBC titles. No, there will be no unification. There is only one promotion and one title. I was expecting a fight, but they came up with some kind of temporary belt. This is very strange, because even during the long downtime of Stipe Miocic, they did not arrange fights for the interim title.

"Apparently, I shouldn't expect anything good from the UFC, but as a champion I deserve more respect. Now nothing surprises me anymore. After all, I'm still the UFC heavyweight champion. Nobody gave me the belt, I earned it,” the Cameroonian said in an interview with Sirius XM.

We will remind, Ngannou won the belt in March this year, knocking out Stipe Miocic.
