Herring and Frampton make weight

Jamel Herring and Carl Frampton made weight ahead of their much-delayed WBO Featherweight title fight this Saturday live on ESPN+ at Caesars Palace in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

Herring (22-2, 10 KOs) weighed 129.4 lbs ahead of his third title defense, while Frampton (28-2, 16 KOs) weighed 129.8 lbs in his quest to become the first ever champion in three weight classes from anywhere on the island of Ireland.

The duel was originally scheduled to take place last June in Belfast, Frampton's hometown, Northern Ireland, but the pandemic canceled those plans. The new date was December last year in Las Vegas, then the fight was postponed to January and February 27. The meeting was supposed to take place in London but was also canceled for various reasons before finally getting a new date and location this Saturday in Dubai.
