At Top Rank's Boxing Night in Las Vegas, Jamel Herring (22-2, 10 KOs) defended his WBO featherweight belt by defeating Jonathan Oquendo (31-7, 19 KOs) by an eighth round disqualification. The fight was stopped after the eighth round, when the champion, whom Oquendo had previously deliberately hit with his head, according to the referee, said that he had vision problems. At the time of the stoppage, Herring was confidently leading on points.

WBO featherweight champion Jamel Herring (21-2, 10 KOs) said that he had coronavirus infection confirmed. His fight against Jonathan Oquendo (31-6, 19 KOs), scheduled for July 2, was postponed until July 16. Herring is currently in quarantine, and his disease is asymptomatic.
